Samba Fundamentals (Open Level)

Learn the basics with this Samba fundamentals class.
This class is a perfect starting place for beginning level dancers to build their foundation for Samba dance, and intermediate/ advanced and professional dancers who want to build, refine, and perfect their base movements.

Brazilian Dance (Open Level)
Mondays, 8:15 – 9:30pm
Rotation of 3 Instructors: Weslei Guimarães, Celeste Davila, and Felice Gomez

Learn about the many styles of Brazilian dance including Samba no Pé, Axé, Afro-Brazilian, Funk Carioca, Samba de Roda, Dança Orixa, and more. This class series will facilitate an exploration of new forms and styles, and develop technique to take your dance to the next level.
Rotating instruction led by core members of the Estrelas dance ensemble.
Open level class is good for intermediate level dancers.

Forró (Open level)
Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:15pm.
Instructor: Weslei Guimarães

Forró from the Northeast of Brazil is an energetic and lively dance sure to keep you on your toes. Build the fundamentals of this rhythmic dance and improve confidence with partner style movements and turns. so you can further enjoy your next night out dancing.
Open level class is good for beginning and intermediate level dancers.

Gafieira (Open Level)
Wednesdays 8:15 – 9:30pm
Instructor: Weslei Guimarães

Fine tune your Gafieira dance by expanding on sequences, utilizing embellishments, and tapping into musicality and spatial awareness.
This open level class is good to strengthen basic knowledge of Samba de Gafieira while expanding upon movements for a larger dance vocabulary.
