Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take a class in Hawaiian or Tahitian dance?
Here is your chance to try workshops in both forms of the dance!
The Mahea Uchiyama Center for International Dance welcomes you to our world village. A place where students of all ages and abilities can take part in multicultural dance experiences:
- 1-1:45pm: Hawaiian Hula offers students an introduction to classical movement art of Hawai’i, including footwork, hand gestures and historical perspectives.
- 2-2:45pm: Tahitian Dance offers students an introduction to the dynamic expression of Tahitian culture exemplified by intricate hip isolations performed to a Tahitian drum orchestra.
