Seibi Lee is a consummate kathak artist known for her powerful storytelling, dynamic technique and gifted musicality. She is a distinguished senior disciple of kathak legend Pandit Chitresh Das and is Co-Founder and Co-Artistic director of Leela Dance Collective. Seibi has earned accolades worldwide for development of numerous virtuosic dance drama character roles and her outstanding portrayal of Hanuman is the inspiration for LDC’s Son of the Wind. Seibi’s solo work The Voice Within has electrified audiences with her signature creations: Panchamsawari – 15 beat taal, Yuki no Onna – The Woman of Snow and Houyi and Chang’e – the epic Chinese myth. She has been honored twice as Master Artist by The Alliance of California Traditional Arts and is the recipient of a Special Award and 2 nominations as principal dancer of the Chitresh Das Dance Company from The Isadora Duncan Dance Awards. Seibi is passionate in her guidance of students and mentorship of next generation kathak artists around the world.
