August marks the 5th year anniversary of the publication of The Mbira – An African Musical Tradition. (North Atlantic Books / Penguin Random House).
The book offers an accessible introduction to the mbira while honoring the spiritual, historical, and cultural traditions connected to this sacred Zimbabwean instrument.
Join Māhealani and her special guests for a reception at the Center for International Dance on Friday, August 14th at 7PM.
There will be mbira performances by Erica Azim, Mbira Dzasoko and Māhealani Uchiyama.
Books will be available for purchase for $15 each. Light refreshments will follow.
